Jens Berthel Askou had one final chance to experiment ahead of the Premier Sports Cup opener against Clyde this weekend. Carlisle United travelled to Fir Park to provide stiff opposition for the Steelmen. Chances came and went for Motherwell, with them dominating the ball and looking lively. Andy Halliday scored the only goal of the afternoon from the spot, with many players impressing as they all push for a starting position for the first match of the season.
