Coming into October, Motherwell had four fixtures ahead of them. Taking on Champions Celtic, a home match against Falkirk, travelling to Livingston and then rounding off with a midweek clash against Dundee United at Fir Park. All eyes were on the Steelmen as they travelled to Glasgow, with many keen to see if they would alter their possession-based football approach at Parkhead. A short break would be next before facing newly promoted and highly impressive Falkirk at Fir Park as Motherwell looked to build momentum going into the semi-final of the Premier Sports Cup. It was then the short journey to West Lothian for Jens Berthel Askou's side, as they faced off against another promoted side in Livingston. October ended with a crucial Wednesday night match with Dundee United at Fir Park.
