Midfielder Andy Halliday says he has heard the stories about volunteers handing out leaflets, and informs us that the players are also aware of the extra effort that is going on in the town. Halliday feels the supporters' energy has really driven the team to success in the last outings at Fir Park, and hopes for something similar on Friday night.

Manager Stuart Kettlewell has seen first hand this week just how much the club means to the supporters. With volunteers handing out leaflets and going door-to-door to get extra people to the game on Friday, the manager says it's now his job to ensure the team put in a performance.  With the prospect of reaching Hampden for the first time in six years in the cup on the horizon, Kettlewell says everyone is excited for the match but knows Dundee United will be visiting Fir Park with a similar mindset.

With a chance to progress to Hampden in the quarter-final of the Premier Sports Cup at stake, this new generation of Motherwell players will need everything from everyone to take that next step to becoming a Motherwell legend.

Aberdeen had made a flawless start to their season. Nine wins on the bounce meant Pittodrie was packed for the arrival of Stuart Kettlewell's Motherwell, who themselves were coming into this one with three wins out of three.  Wearing their brand new third kit, the Steelmen made a slow start to proceedings and found themselves behind at the break. Half time changes and early second-half substitutes improved the performance but Aberdeen would find the back of the net again, to seemingly kill off the match. That wasn't to be the case however. Moses Ebiye once again found the back of the net in the latter stages of the match and had it not been for a brilliant Mitov save from Gordon's effort in stoppage time, it could have been all square. In the end, Aberdeen hung on and Motherwell came away with nothing, something they could feel slightly aggrieved about. But there is no time to ponder, with a quarter-final match against Dundee United on the horizon.

Davor Zdravkovski was here 12 months ago when, after a great start to the season, Motherwell began a run of 15 games without a win.  The North Macedonian is determined to keep the good run going, starting this Saturday against Aberdeen in the William Hill Premiership.

Manager Stuart Kettlewell says despite winning the last three games, his team are not getting drawn into the all positive narrative around the club at the minute, and that they have been working hard to make that four wins this weekend.  He offers an update on the fitness of Shane Blaney, Apostolos Stamatelopoulos and John Koutroumbis. The manager also discusses the recent use of VAR within the games, as well as the successful international window for our players.

In this feature, Davor Zdravkovski takes us on a mini tour of his daily life and discusses his mentality to his setbacks. Zdravkovski arrived in Scotland back in the summer of 2023, having spent six years over in Cyprus, a place he moved to at just 18-years-old. However, after his big move to Motherwell was complete, he didn't hit the ground running. Six months of hard work and relentless endeavour later, Zdravkovski eventually muscled his way into the starting 11 and hasn't looked back since. Despite the slow start, he remained mentally strong and was determined to show his worth. That approach is now required at international level. The 26-year-old was left out of the latest North Macedonia squad, having been a regular in the last 12 months. This set back hasn't de-railed the midfielder and he is more determined than ever to get his first cap for his country.

Stephen O'Donnell swooped the Motherwell player of the month for award for August. The full-back picked up this accolade for the first time back in March and now collects his second award. Taking the captain's armband in our season opener against Ross County, O'Donnell played every minute during the month of August, which included extra-time being played against Kilmarnock. The 32-year-old bagged his second goal of the season against Hearts, with a bullet header at the back post from Lennon Miller's free kick. His work rate and endeavour didn't go unnoticed by the Motherwell support, with O'Donnell continually going the extra yard in every match. "I really appreciate the support from everyone," O'Donnell said. "Thank you to everyone who voted for me. It's so important we use this start to build and push the club on. "We have some massive matches in September and we're going to need everyone behind us to get through them. There is a really good feeling amongst everything associated with the club and we, as players, will do our best to maintain that."
