Motherwell travelled to Dundee knowing a draw would equal a record set back in 1975 for a team drawing six consecutive league matches, a record set by Motherwell themselves. Dundee were also hunting for their first league victory of the season, so the stakes were high in the City of Discovery. In a first-half performance described by Jens Berthel Askou as one of the best of the season, Motherwell made the most of their dominance and got themselves in front through some individual brilliance from Tawanda Maswanhise, who scored for the third consecutive game. Jens Berthel Askou also described the second-half as one of the worst he has seen since he arrived at Fir Park, and that half got off to the worst possible start, with Dundee levelling the game shortly after the half-time interval. Despite a drop in performance levels, chances were still being created by the Steelmen, but they just couldn't find the winner, even when Dundee were reduced to ten men in the final stages of the game. As a result, the Steelmen became the first side this century to draw six straight Scottish Premiership matches and the first team since 1975/76 to draw the opening five top-flight matches. However, on the other side of the coin, they are now unbeaten in 12 competitive games.
