Looking to show a strong mentality following a heavy defeat in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final last weekend, Motherwell travelled north to take on Aberdeen for the third time this season. Having got the better of the Dons in the first two meetings, Jens Berthel Askou was looking for a similar outcome this time round. Dominating possession, Callum Slattery had the best chance of the first-half, with the midfielder blasting an effort towards goal, but Mitov was able to tip it over. The second-half continued in the same fashion, but Motherwell failed to make possession count and could only watch as Jesper Karlsson raced forward and smashed into the net to open the scoring. Thankfully, Slattery and Elijah Just were on the ball to respond quickly from a quirky corner kick routine just minutes later. The draw ensured Motherwell stretched their unbeaten run in the league to three games, making it seven points from a possible nine.
